Paris-Brussels in the blink of an eye!
The walls of our apartments offer a window into the many stories and life projects of our tenants. We meet Benoit, a French expat who is gradually discovering the charms of the capital.
"Even remotely, I could see the quality of the finishings."
It all started with a virtual visit of his apartment. Benoit didn’t have a choice: he was stuck in the Paris region because of Covid. He needed to find an apartment quickly before starting his new job in Brussels. “Even remotely, I could see the quality of the finishings. But what appealed to me most was how close it was to my new workplace,” he explained.
"I love this cosmopolitan neighbourhood, everyone’s so welcoming, friendly and thoughtful."
When he arrived, Benoit didn’t know anything about his new area. “I love this cosmopolitan neighbourhood, everyone’s so welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. And then, when you look around, you notice the very varied architecture of the city. It’s quite different from Paris...” continues this newcomer, who has been delighted to discover “Belgian style” farmhouse bread and who has already signed up for Dutch lessons.
A technician/engineer by proffession and by heart, this tenant also carried out a lot of research into the characteristics of the building, such as levels of insulation, ventilation and the heat exchange heating system. “And then there’s the quality of the facilities in the apartment, which are great, and much better than anything you can find in Paris for a similar rent.” Like all his Felicity neighbours, he is enamoured of the light that falls through the large window in the living room.
And does he miss France? “By taking the metro at Bockstael, I’m no more than 15 minutes from Gare du Midi and the high-speed Thalys train. It’s incredibly fast!”
